Lionel Popkin代理院長這次來參訪的原由，是受到富邦美術館邀約，前來台北。另外也順道拜訪以前在UCLA任教的余承婕教授。

 

雙方先在藝大咖啡寒暄，之後由余承婕教授，帶領參訪舞蹈學院教室與上課情況，以及參訪學生張佩淇與蕭振紘共同編創在曼菲劇場的舞蹈練習作品《An unusual flower》。之後去舞蹈學系辦公室由承婕老師介紹Lionel Popkin代理院長給舞蹈學院的助教們認識。接著陸續參訪了舞蹈學院吳易珊主任的舞蹈教學現場、林立川老師的舞蹈課等。之後並參觀了余承婕老師的辦公室。

 

最後到了展演中心的舞蹈廳參觀同學的排練現場。

 

我們期待著國立台北藝術大學和UCLA在不久的將來進一步的交流與合作！

On May 2nd, Lionel Popkin, Interim Dean of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Arts and Architecture, visited the Dance School of Taipei National University of the Arts (TNUA) and was received by Lin Yatin, Director of Office of International Affairs, and Professor Yu Cheng-Chieh of School of Dance.

 

Interim Dean Lionel Popkin’s visit was at the invitation of the Fubon Art Museum during his visit to Taipei. He also took the opportunity to visit Professor Yu Cheng-Chieh, who had previously taught at UCLA.

 

Both sides first chatted at the TNUA Cafe. Afterwards, Professor Yu Cheng-Chieh led the visit to the dance studios to observe classes and the dance practice works “An unusual flower” choreographed by students, Chang, Pei-Chi and Hsiao Chen-Hung in the Manfei Theater. They then visited the Dance Department office, where Professor Cheng introduced Interim Dean Lionel Popkin to the staffs of School of Dance. They subsequently visited the dance teaching site of Director Wu Yisan and the dance class of Professor Lin Lichuan. They also visited Professor Yu Cheng-Chieh’s office.

 

Finally, they visited the rehearsal site of the students at the Dance Theater of the Performing Arts Center.

We look forward to further exchanges and cooperation between Taipei National University of the Arts and UCLA in the near future!
