Prof. Yoshihiro Nakatani from Seian University of Art and Design (Nara, Japan) brought a delegation of faculty and students to visit our university on 3 March 2026. In addition to a campus tour, the visit centered on artistic exchange. The delegation shared five discussion themes: “I Love Stuffed Animals” , “Sento Tiles Reborn as Art” , “Design for Someone, Art for Oneself” ,“Daily Life with Koi Project”,“Promo campaigns for local festivals featuring characters”. Discussions were conducted in Japanese and English.
The visit was coordinated by Prof. Jan-Yen Huang of the Graduate Institute of Museum Studies. Our students Okuda Tomoaki (Ph.D. Program, Department of Theatre Arts), Sato Wakana (Department of Dance) and Nankumo Miki (M.A. Program, Department of Fine Arts) assisted with the tour and provided live translation from Chinese to Japanese.
The delegation also visited the ballet costume exhibition “From Fabric to Lace, From Fingertips to Toes: Meeting the Nutcracker” organized by the Department of Theatre Design, guided by Prof. Ching-Ju Lin and Prof. An-Huei Tsao, and toured the Art and Technology Center.
The visit strengthened ties between the two universities and created meaningful cross-cultural learning opportunities for students.
