Notarizing and Authenticating Your TNUA Diploma

Notarizing and authenticating your TNUA diploma in your home country can be a long and complex process, and you are strongly recommended to certify your diploma while still in Taiwan, where the validation can be processed at a single agency in 3 business days.
There are two steps for notarizing and authenticating your diploma.
01

Notarizing your Diploma at Taipei District Court

The process typically takes 2-3 business days, but expedited service is available in response to urgent requests.

Address:
No.248, Sec. 1, Zhongxing Rd., Xindian Dist., New Taipei City 231, Taiwan (R.O.C.) (take MRT Green Line to Xindian District Office Station, exit 1)

Bring the following:
  • Original copy of your diploma and transcript
  • ARC/Passport
02

Authenticating at the Bureau of Consular Affairs (BOCA)

Address: Address: 3-5 Fl, No. 2-2, Section 1, Jinan Rd, Taipei City, Taiwan (R.O.C) (take MRT Red Line to National Taiwan University Hospital Station, exit 1)

Bring the following:
  • Passport
  • ARC
  • Notarized documents

National Health Insurance (NHI) Continuation after Graduation

A. Withdraw NHI from TNUA

After graduation, we will transfer your health insurance and process a refund for the health insurance premium (if you meet the refund eligibility criteria). The refund will be deposited into your account, and the refund processing will take 30 days. Please do not close your account before this period.

B. Continue your NHI while staying in Taiwan

If you plan to stay in Taiwan to seek employment or for other purposes, you can maintain NHI coverage for a monthly fee of NTD 826, payable to the district administrative office of your residence. You will no longer have NHI coverage once your ARC expires or is revoked.

C. Leave Taiwan after Graduation

if leaving Taiwan without extending your ARC is your situation, it's advisable to retain your NHI card for future use, especially if you may return for further study or work. Note that if your NHI card is lost, you will need to pay a new card production fee of NT$200 when requesting a replacement.
