Chinese Language Courses

To help international students adapt to life and study in Taiwan and improve their daily Chinese communication skills, the Office of International Affairs (OIA) will offer Chinese language courses (refer the announcements) for international students of the university, including exchange students. Please note that these courses are non-credit courses.

The courses offered this semester are “Contemporary Chinese.” If a student’s Chinese proficiency exceeds the level of the courses currently offered at the university, the OIA will provide a “Chinese Language Learning Subsidy” to support students in taking suitable Chinese courses at external institutions (exchange students are excluded).

In addition, to encourage overseas Chinese and international students to continue improving their Chinese proficiency and strengthen their willingness to pursue further studies or employment in Taiwan, the OIA also provides incentives for the Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL). Eligible students may apply for cash rewards in accordance with the regulations, with a maximum of 10 recipients per fiscal year. The OIA will also provide discount codes for TOCFL registration and assist students in activating one mock test account, allowing them to familiarize themselves with the test format and procedures in advance.
